✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him during the expedition of Tabuk, while he was on a red camel: the camel lagged behind. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'What is the matter with you, Jabir?' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, my camel lagged behind.' He came to it from its rear, supplicated for it, and urged it on. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to me and said: 'What did the camel do, Jabir?' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, it has been leading us since last night.' He said: 'For how much did you buy it?' I said: 'For thirteen dinars.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Sell it to me for the price you paid, and you may ride it to Madinah.' I did so. When we reached Madinah, I put a nose-rein on it and brought it to him, and he gave me the camel and the thirteen dinars.
