حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي غَنِيَّةَ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ، عَمَّنْ حَدَّثَهُ، عَنْ جَدِّ أَبِيهِ الْمُخَارِقِ، قَالَ:
لَقِيتُ عَمَّارَ بْنَ يَاسِرٍ يَوْمَ الْجَمَلِ وَهُوَ يَبُولُ فِي قَرْنٍ، فَقُلْتُ لَهُ: أُقَاتِلُ مَعَكَ وَأَكُونُ مَعَكَ ؟ قَالَ: قَاتِلْ تَحْتَ رَايَةِ قَوْمِكَ، فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَسْتَحِبُّ الرَّجُلَ يُقَاتِلُ تَحْتَ رَايَةِ قَوْمِهِ

✧ I met Ammar b. Yasir on the Day of the Camel while he was urinating in a horn. I said to him: "Should I fight with you and be with you?" He said: "Fight under the banner of your people, for the Messenger of God ﷺ used to like a man to fight under the banner of his people."
