✧ That a man in Kufa testified that 'Uthman ؓ was killed as a martyr, so the guards seized him and raised him to 'Ali ؓ, and said: Were it not that you forbade us, or that you had forbidden us, from killing anyone, we would have killed him. This one claims that he testifies that 'Uthman ؓ was killed as a martyr. The man said to 'Ali ؓ: And you testify. Do you remember that I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and asked him, and he gave me; and I came to Abu Bakr ؓ and asked him, and he gave me; and I came to 'Umar ؓ and asked him, and he gave me; and I came to 'Uthman ؓ and asked him, and he gave me? He said: Then I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: O Messenger of Allah, supplicate Allah to bless me. The Prophet ﷺ said: How can you not be blessed when a Prophet gave you, and a Siddiq and two martyrs; and a Prophet gave you, and a Siddiq and two martyrs; and a Prophet gave you, and a Siddiq and two martyrs?
