حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَجَّاجِ السَّامِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سِنَانٍ، عَنْ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ الْخَوْلَانِيِّ، قَالَ:

أَتَيْنَا عُمَيْرَ بْنَ سَعْدٍ فِي نَفَرٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ فِلَسْطِينَ، وَكَانَ يُقَالُ: نَسِيجُ وَحْدِهِ، فَقَعَدْنَا عَلَى دُكَّانٍ لَهُ عَظِيمٍ فِي دَارِهِ، فَقَالَ لِغُلَامِهِ: يَا غُلَامُ، أَوْرِدِ الْخَيْلَ، قَالَ: وَفِي الدَّارِ تَوْرٌ مِنْ حِجَارَةٍ، قَالَ: فَأَوْرَدَهَا، فَقَالَ: أَيْنَ فُلَانَةُ ؟ قَالَ: هِيَ جَرِبَةٌ تَقْطُرُ دَمًا، أَوْ قَالَ: تَقْطُرُ مَاءً، شَكَّ أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ، قَالَ: أَوْرِدْهَا، فَقَالَ أَحَدُ الْقَوْمِ: إِذًا تَجْرَبُ الْخَيْلُ كُلُّهَا، قَالَ: أَوْرِدْهَا، فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: لَا عَدْوَى، وَلَا طِيَرَةَ، وَلَا هَامَةَ، أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الْبَعِيرِ مِنَ الْإِبِلِ كَيْفَ يَكُونُ بِالصَّحْرَاءِ، ثُمَّ يُصْبِحُ فِي كِرْكِرَتِهِ أَوْ فِي مَرَاقِّهِ نُكْتَةٌ لَمْ تَكُنْ قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ، فَمَنْ أَعْدَى الْأَوَّلَ

Translation

✧ We came to 'Umayr b. Sa'd among a group from the people of Palestine. He was called 'unique in his kind.' We sat on a large bench of his in his house. He said to his servant: O boy, bring the horses to water. In the house there was a stone trough. He brought them to water. He said: Where is so-and-so? He said: She is mangy, dripping blood, or he said dripping water; Abu Ishaq was uncertain. He said: Bring her to water. One of the people said: Then all the horses will become mangy. He said: Bring her to water, for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: There is no contagion, no evil omen, and no hama. Have you not seen the camel among the camels, how it is in the desert, then in its chest or its tender parts appears a spot that was not there before? Who infected the first one?
