حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْمِصْرِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ عَنِ اللَّيْثِ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْقُرَشِيِّ وَيَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَلْحَلَةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَطَاءٍ
أَنَّهُ كَانَ جَالِسًا مَعَ نَفَرٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ أَبَا قَتَادَةَ قَالَ فَإِذَا جَلَسَ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ جَلَسَ عَلَى رِجْلِهِ الْيُسْرَى فَإِذَا جَلَسَ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الأَخِيرَةِ قَدَّمَ رِجْلَهُ الْيُسْرَى وَجَلَسَ عَلَى مَقْعَدَتِهِ

When he( the Prophet) sat up the two rak’ahs he sat on his left foot; and when sat up after the last rak’ah he put out his left foot and sat on his hip.

machine translationMuḥammad b. ʿAmr b. ʿAṭāʾ heard this report from Abū Ḥumayd, and he also heard it from ʿAbbās b. Sahl from his father. He said: So both routes are preserved (maḥfūẓ), and their texts differ. Someone who is not well versed in the craft of hadith may imagine that the report of Abū Ḥumayd is defective, but that is not the case.

هذا الحديث لم يسمعه محمد بن عمرو بن عطاء من أبي حميد ولا من أحد ذكر مع أبي حميد وبينهما رجل مجهول ومحمد بن عمرو ذكر في الحديث أنه حضر أبا قتادة وسنه لا يحتمل ذلك فإن أبا قتادة قتل قبل ذلك بدهر طويل لأنه قتل مع علي وصلى عليه علي
machine translationMuḥammad b. ʿAmr b. ʿAṭāʾ did not hear this hadith from Abū Ḥumayd, nor from anyone mentioned along with Abū Ḥumayd; between them there is an unknown (majhūl) man. Muḥammad b. ʿAmr is mentioned in the hadith as having been present with Abū Qatādah, but his age does not allow for that, for Abū Qatādah was killed a long time before that, since he was killed with ʿAlī, and ʿAlī prayed over him.
