The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: When one of you recites "By the fig and the olive" (Surah 95) and comes to its end "Is not Allah the best judge?" (verse 8), he should say: "Certainly, and I am one of those who testify to that." When one recites "I swear by the Day of Resurrection" (Surah 75) and comes to "Is not that one able to raise the dead to life? (verse 40), he should say: "Certainly." And when one recites "By those that are sent" (Surah 77), and comes to "Then in what message after that will they believe? " (Surah 50), he should say: "We believe in Allah." The narrator Isma'il (ibn Umayyah) said: I beg to repeat (this tradition) before the Bedouin (who reported this tradition) so that I might see whether he (was mistaken). He said: My nephew, do you think that I did not remember it? I performed sixty hajj (pilgrimages); there is no hajj but I recognize the came on which I performed it.

machine translationIsmāʿīl said: I went to repeat it to the Bedouin man and to see whether perhaps he [had forgotten]. He said: "O son of my brother, do you think that I did not memorize it? I have performed sixty pilgrimages, and there is not one of them but that I know the camel on which I performed it."

machine translationIsmāʿīl b. Umayyah narrates it, and there is disagreement about him. Ibrāhīm b. Ṭahmān narrated it from Naṣr, a shaykh of his, from Ismāʿīl b. Umayyah, from Muḥammad b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Saʿd, from Abū Hurayrah, from the Prophet ﷺ. Ibrāhīm b. Abī Yaḥyā followed him in raising it to the Prophet, from Ismāʿīl b. Umayyah, except that he said Saʿd b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, from Abū Hurayrah. Ismāʿīl b. ʿUlayyah narrated it from Ismāʿīl b. Umayyah, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. al-Qāsim, a man of the people of Mecca, from Abū Hurayrah. Ibn ʿUyaynah said, from Ismāʿīl b. Umayyah, from a Bedouin of the desert people, from Abū Hurayrah, and his statement is more likely. Shuʿbah said, from Ismāʿīl b. Umayyah: a truthful man narrated to me, from Abū Hurayrah. Ismāʿīl b. Muḥammad al-Ṣaffār and Ḥamzah b. Muḥammad narrated to us, they said: Ismāʿīl b. Isḥāq narrated to us: ʿAlī b. al-Madīnī narrated to us: Sufyān narrated to us: Ismāʿīl b. Umayyah narrated to us, and he was trustworthy, he said: I heard a Bedouin say: I heard Abū Hurayrah say: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever among you recites {By the fig and the olive} and reaches its end, {Is not Allah the most just of judges?}, let him say: Yes, and to that I am among the witnesses. And whoever recites {I swear by the Day of Resurrection}, {Is He not able to give life to the dead?}, let him say: Yes. And whoever recites {By those sent forth in succession} and reaches {In what hadith after it will they believe?}, let him say: We believe in Allah." Ismāʿīl said: I went to repeat it to the Bedouin and to see; perhaps he said: O son of my brother, do you think I did not memorize it? I have performed sixty pilgrimages, and there is not one of them but that I know the camel on which I performed it. Ibn al-Madīnī said: I said to Sufyān b. ʿUyaynah: Ismāʿīl b. ʿUlayyah narrated it from him, that is from Ismāʿīl b. Umayyah, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. al-Qāsim, a man of the people of Mecca, from Abū Hurayrah: "When one of you recites {I swear}..." Sufyān said: We did not memorize it. Ismāʿīl al-Ṣaffār and Ḥamzah narrated to us, they said: Ismāʿīl narrated to us: ʿAlī b. ʿAbdullāh narrated to us: Ismāʿīl b. Ibrāhīm narrated to us: Ismāʿīl b. Umayyah narrated to us, from a man of the people of Mecca called ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. al-Qāsim, from Abū Hurayrah: "When one of you recites {I swear by the Day of Resurrection} and recites {Is He not able to give life to the dead?}, let him say: Yes." Ibn al-Madīnī said: He did not raise it to the Prophet. End of his question, from the hadith of Abū Hurayrah.
