A mouse came dragging a wick and dropped before the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the mat on which he was sitting with the result that it burned a hole in it about the size of dirham. He (the prophet) said: When you go to sleep, extinguish your lamps, for the devil guides a creature like this to do thus and sets you on fire.

What scholars said about it

In their own words, as Hadith Unlocked records them. They are shown, not summarised into a grade.

  • ʿAbd al-ʿAẓīm al-Mudhirī

machine translationIn its chain of transmission is ʿAmr b. Ṭalḥah, and we did not find any mention of him in the books of theirs that we have seen. And if he is [in fact] ʿAmr b. Ṭalḥah, then a scribal corruption (taṣḥīf) has occurred in it, and this is a class [of narrators] whose hadith is not used as evidence.
