Regarding intercession

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ السَّرْحِ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ وَهْبِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ عَنْ أَخِيهِ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ

اشْفَعُوا تُؤْجَرُوا فَإِنِّي لأُرِيدُ الأَمْرَ فَأُؤَخِّرُهُ كَيْمَا تَشْفَعُوا فَتُؤْجَرُوا فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ اشْفَعُوا تُؤْجَرُوا

Translation

Make intercession, you will be rewarded, for I purposely delay a matter so that you intercede and then you are rewarded. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: If you make intercession, you will be rewarded.
