The Messenger of Allah ﷺ never went out of my house without raising his eye to the sky and saying: allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bika an aḍilla aw uḍall, aw azilla aw uzall, aw aẓlima aw uẓlam, aw ajhala aw yujhala ʿalayya. (O Allah, I seek refuge in You lest I go astray or be led astray, lest I slip or be made to slip, lest I wrong others or be wronged, or lest I act ignorantly or ignorance be shown toward me.)

  • Dāraquṭnī

machine translationIt is narrated by al-Shaʿbī, and there is disagreement about it from him. Abū Bakr al-Hudhalī narrated it from al-Shaʿbī, from ʿAbdullāh b. Shaddād, from Maymūnah, but the correct (ṣaḥīḥ) report is from al-Shaʿbī, from Umm Salamah.
