machine translationThe sound (ṣaḥīḥ) report is the hadith of al-Aʿmash, from Tamīm, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Hilāl, from Jarīr, from the Prophet ﷷ.
machine translationYaḥyā al-Qaṭṭān narrated it from al-Thawrī, from Manṣūr, from Tamīm b. Salamah, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Hilāl, from Jarīr. Others narrate it from Sufyān as a mursal report, without mentioning ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Hilāl. There is disagreement about al-Aʿmash: Abū Muʿāwiyah al-Ḍarīr, Jarīr, Zuhayr, Mūsā b. Aʿyun, Sharīk, Jaʿfar al-Aḥmar and ʿAmmār b. Ruzayq narrated it from al-Aʿmash, from Tamīm b. Salamah, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Hilāl, from Jarīr. Likewise Abū ʿĀmir al-ʿAqadī narrated it from Shuʿbah, from al-Aʿmash. Ghundar differed from him, from Shuʿbah, and said: from Hilāl b. ʿAbdullāh instead of ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Hilāl. Al-Thawrī also differed from him, narrating it from al-Aʿmash, from Mūsā b. ʿAbdullāh b. Yazīd, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Hilāl, from Jarīr. The first is more sound (aṣaḥḥ).
