machine translationIbn Wahb was alone in narrating this hadith from Jarīr b. Ḥāzim. Ibn ʿAdī said: No one says in this hadith 'from ʿUbaydullāh, from Nāfiʿ, from Ibn ʿUmar' except Jarīr, and from him ʿAbdullāh, and this is a mistake. I do not know whether the mistake is from Jarīr or from Ibn Wahb. The students of ʿUbaydullāh narrated it from ʿUbaydullāh, from Ḥabīb b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, from Ḥafṣ b. ʿĀṣim, from Abū Hurayrah, from the Prophet ﷺ.
