Sunan Abi Dawud 2415

Whoever Said: "Indeed I Fasted All Of Ramadan"

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنِ الْمُهَلَّبِ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لاَ يَقُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ إِنِّي صُمْتُ رَمَضَانَ كُلَّهُ وَ قُمْتُهُ كُلَّهُ فَلاَ أَدْرِي أَكَرِهَ التَّزْكِيَةَ أَوْ قَالَ لاَ بُدَّ مِنْ نَوْمَةٍ أَوْ رَقْدَةٍ

Translation

The Prophet ﷺ said: One of you should not say: I fasted the whole of Ramadan, and I prayed during the night in the whole of Ramadan. I do not know whether he disliked the purification; or he (the narrator) said: He must have slept a little and taken rest.
