حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الشَّنِّيُّ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عُمَرُ بْنُ مُرَّةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ بِلاَلَ بْنَ يَسَارِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ مَوْلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يُحَدِّثُنِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّي أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ:
«مَنْ قَالَ: أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ الَّذِي لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ الْحَىُّ الْقَيُّومُ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ غُفِرَ لَهُ، وَإِنْ كَانَ فَرَّ مِنَ الزَّحْفِ».

that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Whoever says, astaghfiru allāh al-ʿaẓīm alladhī lā ilāha illā huwa, al-ḥayyu al-qayyūm, wa-atūbu ilayh (I seek forgiveness from Allah, besides Whom there is no god but He, the Living, the Self-Subsisting, and I repent to Him) he will be forgiven, even if he fled from the battle line."
