حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ سُفْيَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي سِمَاكٌ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ

كَانَتْ صَلاَةُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَصْدًا وَخُطْبَتُهُ قَصْدًا يَقْرَأُ آيَاتٍ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ وَيُذَكِّرُ النَّاسَ

Translation

The prayer offered by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was moderate, and the sermon given by him was (also) moderate. He would recite a few verses from the Qur'an and exhort the people.
