Translation
✧ I said to Ata: What has reached you about pouring water over the head? He said: It has reached me that it is three times. I said: What do you think if I pour water over my head three times while I have long hair, and with each pouring I soak it, and I have a concern in my mind whether I have not wetted the roots of the hair as I want? He said: That is what was said: three times is the Sunnah.
