✧ Whoever embraces Islam at the hands of a man, he is his mawla

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مَوْهَبٍ، عَنْ تَمِيمٍ الدَّارِيِّ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:
مَنْ أَسْلَمَ عَلَى يَدِ رَجُلٍ فَهُوَ مَوْلَاهُ. قَالَ ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ: وَيَرِثُهُ إِذَا لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ وَارِثٌ. فَذَكَرْتُهُ لِلثَّوْرِيِّ، فَقَالَ: " يَرِثُهُ؛ هُوَ أَحَقُّ مِنْ غَيْرِهِ
Translation
✧ Whoever embraces Islam at the hands of a man, he is his mawla. Ibn al-Mubarak said: And he inherits from him if he has no heir. So I mentioned it to al-Thawri, and he said: "He inherits from him; he is more entitled than others."
