✧ The people of two religions do not inherit from each other

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا الثَّوْرِيُّ وَمَالِكٌ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي حَكِيمٍ:

أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ أَعْتَقَ غُلَامًا لَهُ نَصْرَانِيًّا، فَمَاتَ، فَأَمَرَنِي أَنْ أَجْعَلَ مِيرَاثَهُ فِي بَيْتِ الْمَالِ

Translation

✧ Umar b. Abd al-Aziz freed a Christian slave of his, who then died. He ordered me to place his inheritance in the bayt al-mal (public treasury).
