أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ قَالَ:
قَالَ رَجُلٌ لِعَلِيٍّ: أَخْبِرْنِي عَنْ قُرَيْشٍ قَالَ: أَمَّا نَحْنُ بَنُو هَاشِمٍ فَأَنْجَادٌ أَمْجَادٌ، أَهْدَاةٌ أَجْوَادٌ، وَأَمَّا إِخْوَانُنَا بَنُو أُمَيَّةَ فَأَدَبَةٌ ذَادَةٌ، وَرَيْحَانَةُ قُرَيْشٍ الَّتِي نَشُمُّ بَيْنَهَا بَنِي الْمُغِيرَةِ
Translation
Chain of narrators
machine translationʿAbd al-Razzāq informed us, he said: Maʿmar informed us, he said:
✧ A man said to Ali: Tell me about Quraysh. He said: As for us, Banu Hashim, we are courageous and glorious, guiding and generous. As for our brothers Banu Umayyah, they are refined and defenders. The aromatic herb of Quraysh among whom we smell is Banu al-Mughirah.
