أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ قَالَ:
قَالَ رَجُلٌ لِعَلِيٍّ: أَخْبِرْنِي عَنْ قُرَيْشٍ قَالَ: " أَرْزَنُنَا أَحْلَامًا إِخْوَتُنَا بَنُو أُمَيَّةَ، وَأَنْجَدُنَا عِنْدَ اللِّقَاءِ، وَأَسْخَانَا بِمَا مَلَكَتِ الْيَمِينُ.... بَنُو هَاشِمٍ، وَرَيْحَانَةُ قُرَيْشٍ الَّتِي نَشُمُّ بَيْنَهَا بَنِي الْمُغِيرَةِ، إِلَيْكَ عَنِّي سَائِرَ الْيَوْمِ
Translation

machine translationʿAbd al-Razzāq informed us, he said: Maʿmar informed us, from Ayyūb, from Ibn Sīrīn, who said:
✧ A man said to Ali: Tell me about Quraysh. He said: The most forbearing among us are our brothers the Banu Umayyah, and the most courageous at the meeting, and the most generous with what the right hand possesses... the Banu Hashim, and the aromatic herb of Quraysh among whom we smell is Banu al-Mughirah. Away from me with the rest today.
