Translation
✧ Then came the expedition of Banu al-Nadir. They were a group of the Jews, six months after the Battle of Badr. Their dwellings and palm trees were on a side of Madinah. The Messenger of God ﷺ besieged them until they submitted to exile, on condition that they could take what their camels could carry of goods and property except weapons, meaning armor. Then God revealed concerning them: "Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth exalts God, and He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise. It is He who expelled those who disbelieved among the People of the Scripture from their homes at the first gathering." The Prophet ﷺ fought them until he made peace with them on exile, and he exiled them to Syria. They were from a tribe that had never suffered exile before, but God had decreed exile upon them. Had it not been for that, He would have punished them in this world with killing and captivity. As for His saying "at the first gathering," that exile of theirs was the first gathering in this world to Syria.
