Translation
✧ A head was never brought to the Prophet ﷺ, not even on the day of Badr. A large head was brought to Abu Bakr, and he said: 'What have I to do with their corpses being carried to the city of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?' Then after him, during the time of the fitna, heads were not carried to Marwan or to anyone else, until the time of Ibn al-Zubayr, and he was the first to institute that. The head of Ziyad and his companions were carried to him, and they cooked their heads in pots.
