✧ To Whom the Spoils Belong

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ رَاشِدٍ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ، أَنَّ سَعْدَ بْنَ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ قَالَ:
يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَرَأَيْتَ رَجُلًا يَكُونُ حَامِيَةَ الْقَوْمِ، وَيَدْفَعُ عَنْ أَصْحَابِهِ، أَيَكُونُ نَصِيبُهُ كَنَصِيبِ غَيْرِهِ ؟ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: ثَكِلَتْكَ أُمُّكَ يَا ابْنَ أُمِّ سَعْدٍ، وَهَلْ تُرْزَقُونَ وَتُنْصَرُونَ إِلَّا بِضُعَفَائِكُمْ
Translation
✧ O Messenger of God, what do you think of a man who is the protector of the people, defending his companions—will his share be like the share of others? The Prophet ﷺ said: 'May your mother be bereaved of you, O son of Umm Sa'd! Are you provided for and helped except through your weak ones?'
