عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ:
دَخَلَ عَلَى الْمُخْتَارِ بْنِ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ رَجُلٌ وَقَدِ اشْتَمَلَ عَلَى سَيْفِهِ قَالَ: فَجَعَلَ الْمُخْتَارُ يَكْذِبُ عَلَى اللهِ وَعَلَى رَسُولِهِ ﷺ قَالَ: فَهَمَمْتُ أَنْ أَضْرِبَهُ بِسَيْفِي، فَذَكَرْتُ حَدِيثًا حَدَّثَنِيهِ عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَمِقِ أَوْ عَمْرُو بْنُ فُلَانٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ: أَيُّمَا رَجُلٍ أَمَّنَ رَجُلًا عَلَى دَمِهِ وَمَالِهِ فَقَتَلَهُ فَقَدْ بَرِئَتْ مِنَ الْقَاتِلِ ذِمَّةُ اللهِ، وَإِنْ كَانَ الْمَقْتُولُ كَافِرًا
Translation
✧ A man entered upon al-Mukhtār b. Abī ʿUbayd while he had wrapped his sword around him. He said: Al-Mukhtār began lying about God and His Messenger ﷺ. He said: I resolved to strike him with my sword, but I remembered a hadith that ʿAmr b. al-Ḥamiq or ʿAmr b. so-and-so narrated to me. He said: I heard the Prophet ﷺ say: Any man who grants another man safety for his blood and his wealth, then kills him, the protection of God is disavowed from the killer, even if the slain one was a disbeliever.
