✧ The polytheist coming to a Muslim without a treaty

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ:
سُئِلَ عَطَاءٌ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ مِنْ أَهْلِ الشِّرْكِ يَأْتِي الْمُسْلِمَ بِغَيْرِ عَهْدٍ قَالَ: " خَيِّرْهُ إِمَّا أَنْ تُقِرَّهُ، وَإِمَّا أَنْ تُبْلِغَهُ مَأْمَنَهُ
Translation
✧ Ata was asked about a man from the polytheists who comes to a Muslim without a treaty. He said, 'Give him the choice: either you may grant him protection, or you may convey him to a place of safety.'
