✧ Guard duty at the frontier

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي مُصْعَبُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ:
أَنَّ سَلْمَانَ الْفَارِسِيَّ مَرَّ بِالسِّمْطِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ وَهُوَ فِي مُرَابِطٍ قَدْ شَقَّ عَلَيْهِ وَهَمَّ بِالتَّحَوُّلِ عَنْهُ فَقَالَ: أَلَا أُخْبِرُكَ حَدِيثًا سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ ؟
Translation
✧ Salman al-Farisi passed by al-Simt b. Thabit while he was at a guard post and it had become burdensome for him, and he was thinking of moving away from it. He said, "Shall I not tell you a hadith I heard from the Messenger of God ﷺ?"
