✧ The funeral prayer for the martyr and washing him

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ قَالَ:
مَا رَأَيْتُهُمْ يُغَسِّلُونَ الشَّهِيدَ، وَلَا يُحَنِّطُونَهُ، وَلَا يُكَفَّنُ " قُلْتُ: أَرَأَيْتَ كَيْفَ يُصَلَّى عَلَيْهِمْ ؟ قَالَ: " كَمَا يُصَلَّى عَلَى الْآخَرِينَ الَّذِينَ لَيْسُوا شُهَدَاءَ
Translation
✧ I did not see them wash the martyr, embalm him, or shroud him. I said: 'Have you seen how the funeral prayer is offered over them?' He said: 'As it is offered over the others who are not martyrs.'
