عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ:
شَهِدْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ بِخَيْبَرَ أَوْ قَالَ: لَمَّا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِخَيْبَرَ قَالَ لِرَجُلٍ مِمَّنْ كَانَ مَعَهُ يَدَّعِي الْإِسْلَامَ: هَذَا مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ، فَلَمَّا حَضَرَ الْقِتَالُ قَاتَلَ، فَأَصَابَتْهُ جِرَاحٌ فَقِيلَ: قَدْ مَاتَ، فَأُتِيَ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقِيلَ: الرَّجُلُ الَّذِي قُلْتَ هُوَ مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ، فَإِنَّهُ قَاتَلَ الْيَوْمَ قِتَالًا شَدِيدًا، وَقَدْ مَاتَ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: " إِلَى النَّارِ " فَكَأَنَّ بَعْضَ النَّاسِ ارْتَابَ قَالَ: فَبَيْنَا هُمْ كَذَلِكَ إِذْ قِيلَ: لَمْ يَمُتْ، وَلَكِنْ بِهِ جِرَاحٌ شَدِيدَةٌ، فَلَمَّا كَانَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ لَمْ يَصْبِرْ عَلَى الْجِرَاحِ، فَقَتَلَ نَفْسَهُ، فَأُخْبِرَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بِذَلِكَ فَقَالَ: " اللهُ أَكْبَرُ، أَشْهَدُ أَنِّي عَبْدُ اللهِ وَرَسُولُهُ " ثُمَّ أَمَرَ بِلَالًا فَنَادَى: لَا يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ إِلَّا نَفْسٌ مُؤْمِنَةٌ، وَإِنَّ اللهَ لَيُؤَيِّدُ هَذَا الدِّينَ بِالرَّجُلِ الْفَاجِرِ
Translation
✧ We were present with the Messenger of God ﷺ at Khaybar—or he said: When the Messenger of God ﷺ was at Khaybar, he said about a man among those with him who claimed to be a Muslim: “This one is from the people of the Fire.” When the fighting began, he fought and was wounded. It was said: He has died. He was brought to the Prophet ﷺ and it was said: The man whom you said is from the people of the Fire fought fiercely today and has died. The Prophet ﷺ said: “To the Fire.” Some of the people seemed to doubt. He said: While they were thus, it was said: He has not died, but he has severe wounds. During the night he could not bear the wounds, so he killed himself. The Prophet ﷺ was informed of that, and he said: “God is most great. I bear witness that I am God’s servant and His messenger.” Then he ordered Bilal, who called out: “No soul enters Paradise except a believing soul, and God may support this religion with a sinful man.”
