عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:
مَا تَعُدُّونَ الشَّهِيدَ فِيكُمْ ؟ قَالُوا: مَنْ قُتِلَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ قَالَ: " إِنَّ شُهَدَاءَ أُمَّتِي لَقَلِيلٌ إِذًا، الْقَتْلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ شَهَادَةٌ، وَالْبَطْنُ شَهَادَةٌ، وَالْغَرَقُ شَهَادَةٌ، وَالطَّاعُونُ شَهَادَةٌ، وَالنُّفَسَاءُ شَهَادَةٌ
Translation
✧ What do you count as a martyr among you? They said: One who is killed in the way of God. He said: “Then the martyrs of my community are few. Being killed in the way of God is martyrdom; the belly is martyrdom; drowning is martyrdom; the plague is martyrdom; and the woman who dies in childbirth is martyrdom.”
