عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُدْعَانَ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ قَالَ:
قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَحْشٍ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ: " اللَّهُمَّ أُقْسِمُ عَلَيْكَ أَنْ أَلْقَى الْعَدُوَّ، فَإِذَا لَقِيتُ الْعَدُوَّ يَقْتُلُونِي، ثُمَّ يَبْقُرُوا بَطْنِي، ثُمَّ يُمَثِّلُوا بِي، فَإِذَا لَقِيتُكَ سَأَلْتَنِي، قُلْتَ: فِيمَ هَذَا ؟ " قَالَ: فَلَقِيَ الْعَدُوَّ فَقُتِلَ، وَفُعِلَ بِهِ ذَلِكَ، فَقَالَ ابْنُ الْمُسَيِّبِ: فَإِنِّي لَأَرْجُو اللهَ أَنْ يُبِرَّ آخِرَ قَسَمِهِ كَمَا أَبَرَّ أَوَّلَهُ
Translation
✧ Abdullah b. Jahsh said on the day of Uhud: 'O Allah, I adjure You that I meet the enemy, and when I meet the enemy, they kill me, then they split open my belly, then they mutilate me. When I meet You, You will ask me and say: For what was this?' He said: He met the enemy and was killed, and that was done to him. Ibn al-Musayyab said: I hope Allah will fulfill the last part of his oath as He fulfilled its beginning.
