✧ Plunder and single combat

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ قَالَ:
قَامَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَنِي قُرَيْظَةَ فَقَالَ: مَنْ يُبَارِزُ ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: " قُمْ يَا زُبَيْرُ " فَقَالَتْ صَفِيَّةُ: أَوَحِيدِي يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: أَيُّهُمَا عَلَا صَاحِبَهُ قَتَلَهُ ؟ " فَعَلَاهُ الزُّبَيْرُ فَقَتَلَهُ، فَنَفَّلَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ سَلَبَهُ.
Translation
✧ A man from Banu Qurayzah stood up and said: 'Who will fight me in single combat?' The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Rise, O Zubayr.' Safiyyah said: 'Is he to be my only one, O Messenger of Allah?' The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Whichever of the two overcomes his companion will kill him?' Then al-Zubayr overcame him and killed him, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave him his spoils as extra reward.
