عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي حَنْظَلَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْأَسْلَمِيُّ: أَنَّ حَمْزَةَ بْنَ عَمْرٍو الْأَسْلَمِيَّ صَاحِبَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ حَدَّثَهُ،
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ بَعَثَهُ وَرَهْطًا مَعَهُ سَرِيَّةٌ إِلَى رَجُلٍ مِنْ عَدُوِّهِ فَقَالَ لَهُمْ: " إِنْ قَدَرْتُمْ عَلَى فُلَانٍ فَأَحْرِقُوهُ فِي النَّارِ "، فَانْطَلَقُوا حَتَّى إِذَا تَوَارَوْا مِنْهُ نَادَاهُمْ، فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهِمْ، فَرَدَّهُمْ فَقَالَ لَهُمْ: " إِنْ قَدَرْتُمْ عَلَيْهِ فَاقْتُلُوهُ وَلَا تُحْرِقُوهُ بِالنَّارِ، فَإِنَّهُ لَا يُعَذِّبُ بِالنَّارِ إِلَّا رَبُّ النَّارِ
Translation
✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent him and a group with him as a raiding party against a man from his enemy, and he said to them: "If you gain power over so-and-so, burn him in the fire." They departed, and when they were hidden from him, he called to them and sent for them and brought them back. He said to them: "If you gain power over him, kill him and do not burn him with fire, for no one tortures with fire except the Lord of Fire."
