عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: حَسِبْتُ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قَالَ:
بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ سَرِيَّةً، فَقَالَ: إِنْ أَخَذْتُمْ هَبَّارَ بْنَ الْأَسْوَدِ فَاجْعَلُوهُ بَيْنَ شُعْبَتَيْنِ مِنْ حَطَبٍ، ثُمَّ أَلْقُوا فِيهَا النَّارَ " ثُمَّ قَالَ: " سُبْحَانَ اللهِ، مَا يَنْبَغِي لِأَحَدٍ أَنْ يُعَذِّبَ بِعَذَابِ اللهِ، إِنْ وَجَدْتُمُوهُ فَاقْطَعُوا يَدَهُ، ثُمَّ رِجْلَهُ، ثُمَّ اقْطَعُوا يَدَهُ، ثُمَّ رِجْلَهُ " قَالَ: فَلَمْ تُصِبْهُ تِلْكَ السَّرِيَّةُ وَأَصَابَتْهُ نَقْلَةٌ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ قَالَ: وَكَانَ رَجُلًا سَبَّابًا، فَأُتِيَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَقِيلَ هَذَا هَبَّارُ بْنُ الْأَسْوَدِ يُسَبُّ فَمَا يَسُبُّ قَالَ: فَجَاءَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَمْشِي حَتَّى قَامَ عَلَيْهِ، وَكَانَ هَبَّارٌ مُسْلِمًا فَقَالَ لَهُ: " سُبَّ مَنْ سَبَّكَ، سُبَّ مَنْ سَبَّكَ
Translation
✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent out a raiding party and said: "If you seize Habbar b. al-Aswad, place him between two branches of firewood, then cast fire into it." Then he said: "Glory be to Allah! It is not fitting for anyone to torture with the punishment of Allah. If you find him, cut off his hand, then his foot, then cut off his hand, then his foot." He said: "That raiding party did not get him, but a transfer to Madinah got him." He said: "He was a man who insulted, so the Prophet ﷺ was told, 'This is Habbar b. al-Aswad, insulting, and what insults!'" He said: "The Prophet ﷺ came to him walking until he stood over him—and Habbar was a Muslim—and said to him: 'Insult whoever insulted you, insult whoever insulted you.'"
