Translation
✧ Abū Mūsā wrote to ʿUmar b. al-Khaṭṭāb that there had been death and hardship among the purebred horses, and that after them there were things that did not reach the levels of the purebreds—barādhīn and the like—and he would like to hear his opinion about them. ʿUmar wrote back to him: Give the Arabian horse two shares, the muqrif one share, and the mule one share.
