عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ أَبِي عُمَرَ:
أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ ابْنَ الْمُسَيِّبِ، وَالْقَاسِمَ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ عَمَّا يَجِدُ السَّرِيَّةُ فِي مَطَامِيرِ الرُّومِ قَالَ: أَمَّا الذَّهَبُ وَالْفِضَّةُ وَالثِّيَابُ وَالطَّعَامُ، فَيُطْرَحُ فِي الْمَغَانِمِ، أَمَّا مَا كَانَ مِنْ طَعَامٍ، وَإِنْ كَثُرَ، زَيْتٍ، أَوْ سَمْنٍ، أَوْ عَسَلٍ، فَهُوَ لِتِلْكَ السَّرِيَّةِ، دُونَ الْجَيْشِ يَأْكُلُونَ وَيُهْدُونَ، وَلَا يَبِيعُونَ
Translation
✧ That he asked Ibn al-Musayyib and al-Qasim b. Muhammad about what a raiding party finds in Byzantine grain silos. He said: As for gold, silver, clothes, and food, it is put into the spoils. As for whatever food there is, even if abundant—oil, ghee, or honey—it belongs to that raiding party, to the exclusion of the army. They eat and give gifts, but do not sell.
