✧ A man goes to battle while his father disapproves

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ قَالَ:
بَعَثَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ سَرِيَّةً وَعِنْدَهُ شَابٌّ كَانَ يَأْخُذُ بِيَدِهِ إِذَا قَامَ فَسَأَلَهُ أَنْ يَبْعَثَهُ فِي السَّرِيَّةِ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: هَلْ تَرَكْتَ فِي أَهْلِكَ مِنْ كَهْلٍ ؟ قَالَ: لَا، إِلَّا صِبْيَةً صِغَارًا قَالَ: " فَارْجِعْ إِلَيْهِمْ، فَإِنَّ فِيهِمْ مُجَاهَدًا حَسَنًا
Translation
✧ The Prophet ﷺ dispatched a military expedition, and with him was a young man whom he used to hold by the hand when he stood. The young man asked him to send him on the expedition, so the Prophet ﷺ said to him: Have you left anyone elderly among your family? He said: No, only young children. He said: "Then return to them, for in them there is a good struggle."
