✧ A man goes to battle while his father disapproves

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ
فِي الْوَالِدَيْنِ إِذَا أَذِنَا فِي الْغَزْوِ قَالَ: " إِنْ كُنْتَ تَرَى هَوَاهُمَا فِي الْجُلُوسِ فَاجْلِسْ " وَسُئِلَ مَا بِرُّ الْوَالِدَيْنِ ؟ قَالَ: " أَنْ تَبْذُلَ لَهُمَا مَا مَلَكْتَ، وَأَنْ تُطِيعَهُمَا فِي مَا أَمَرَاكَ بِهِ إِلَّا أَنْ تَكُونَ مَعْصِيَةً
Translation
✧ Regarding parents, if they permit going on a military expedition, he said: "If you think they prefer you to stay, then stay." He was asked what dutifulness to parents is, and he said: "To give them what you own and to obey them in what they command you, unless it involves disobedience (to God)."
