✧ The Virtue of Prayer in the Haram

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: أُخْبِرْتُ عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ مُجَمِّعٍ قَالَ:
دَخَلَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ مَسْجِدَ قُبَاءٍ، فَقَالَ: وَاللهِ لَأَنْ أُصَلِّيَ فِي هَذَا الْمَسْجِدِ صَلَاةً وَاحِدَةً أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ أَنْ أُصَلِّيَ فِي بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ أَرْبَعًا، بَعْدَ أَنْ أُصَلِّيَ فِي بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ صَلَاةً وَاحِدَةً، وَلَوْ كَانَ هَذَا الْمَسْجِدُ بِأُفُقٍ مِنَ الْآفَاقِ لَضَرَبْنَا إِلَيْهِ آبَاطَ الْإِبِلِ
Translation
✧ ʿUmar b. al-Khaṭṭāb entered the mosque of Qubāʾ and said, “By Allah, to pray a single prayer in this mosque is more beloved to me than to pray four prayers in Jerusalem, after I have prayed a single prayer in Jerusalem. And if this mosque were at one of the horizons, we would strike the camels' flanks to reach it.”
