✧ The Virtue of Prayer in the Haram

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْمَكِّيَّ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ قَالَ:
جَاءَ الشَّرِيدُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ، فَقَالَ: إِنِّي نَذَرْتُ إِنِ اللهُ فَتَحَ عَلَيْكَ مَكَّةَ أَنْ أُصَلِّيَ فِي بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ قَالَ: فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: " هَاهُنَا أَفْضَلُ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ " ثُمَّ قَالَ: " وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ، لَوْ صَلَّيْتَ هَاهُنَا أَجْزَأَ عَنْكَ " ثُمَّ قَالَ: صَلَاةٌ فِي هَذَا الْمَسْجِدِ أَفْضَلُ مِنْ أَلْفِ صَلَاةٍ فِيمَا سِوَاهُ مِنَ الْمَسَاجِدِ
Translation
✧ Al-Sharīd came to the Prophet ﷺ on the Day of the Conquest and said, “I vowed that if Allah granted you victory over Makkah, I would pray in Jerusalem.” He said: The Prophet ﷺ said to him, “Here is more virtuous,” three times. Then he said, “By the One in whose hand is my soul, if you pray here it will suffice you.” Then he said, “A prayer in this mosque is more virtuous than a thousand prayers in any other mosque.”
