✧ Praying on the Roof of the Ka'bah

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ:
قُلْتُ لِعَطَاءٍ: أَيُصَلِّي عَلَى ظَهْرِ الْكَعْبَةِ بَعْضُ مَنْ يَظْهَرُ عَلَيْهِ ؟ قَالَ: " مَا أُحِبُّ ذَلِكَ قُلْتُ: أَرَأَيْتَ لَوْ أَنَّ الْحَجَبَةَ حَانَتِ الصَّلَاةُ وَهُمْ فَوْقَهَا، أَتَكْرَهُ أَنْ يُصَلُّوا فَوْقَهُ سَاعَتَئِذٍ ؟ قَالَ: " نَعَمْ، أَكْرَهُهَا ".

machine translationʿAbd al-Razzāq, from Ibn Jurayj, who said:
✧ I said to Ata: 'Should someone who appears on it pray on the roof of the Kaaba?' He said: 'I do not like that.' I said: 'What do you think if the custodians are upon it when the prayer time comes, would you dislike them praying on it at that moment?' He said: 'Yes, I dislike it.'
