✧ Kissing the Corner

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ رَاشِدٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ مَكْحُولًا يُحَدِّثُ

أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ اسْتَقْبَلَ الرُّكْنَ فَقَالَ: " قَدْ عَلِمْتُ أَنَّكَ حَجَرٌ وَأَنَّكَ لَا تَضُرُّ وَلَا تَنْفَعُ وَلَوْلَا أَنِّي رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُقَبِّلُكَ مَا قَبَّلْتُكَ " قَالَ: ثُمَّ قَبَّلَهُ

Translation

✧ 'Umar b. al-Khattab faced the corner and said: "I know that you are a stone and that you can neither harm nor benefit. Were it not that I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ kiss you, I would not kiss you." He said: Then he kissed it.
