✧ Whether the Obligatory Prayer Suffices from Behind the Seven

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ:
قُلْتُ لِعَطَاءٍ: أَيُجْزِئُ سَبْعِي لَا أُصَلِّي حَتَّى آتِيَ الْبَيْتَ فَأُصَلِّيهِمَا ؟ قَالَ: " نَعَمْ. إِنْ شِئْتَ " قُلْتُ: أَرَأَيْتَ لَوْ قَدَّمْتُ رَكْعَتَيِ السَّبْعِ قَبْلَهُ هَلْ تُجْزِئُ ذَلِكَ عَنِ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَهُ ؟ قَالَ: " سُبْحَانَ اللهِ مَا أَدْرِي " قَالَ: قُلْتُ: لَا، حَتَّى أَرْكَعَهُمَا بَعْدَهُ ؟ قَالَ: " نَعَمْ
Translation
✧ I said to Ata: 'Does my seven rounds suffice if I do not pray until I come to the House and pray them?' He said: 'Yes, if you wish.' I said: 'What do you think if I pray the two rak'ahs of the seven rounds before it—would that suffice for the two rak'ahs after it?' He said: 'Glory be to Allah, I do not know.' He said: I said: 'No, not until I pray them after it?' He said: 'Yes.'
