✧ Whether the Obligatory Prayer Suffices from Behind the Seven

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: أُخْبِرْتُ عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ الْجُمَحِيِّ:
أَنَّهُ طَافَ مَعَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَبْلَ غُرُوبِ الشَّمْسِ قَالَ: فَأَنْجَزْنَا وَأُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَصَلَّيْنَا الْمَغْرِبَ، ثُمَّ قَامَ فَلَمْ يُصَلِّ، وَأَنْشَأَ فِي سَبْعٍ أُخَرَ فَقُلْتُ: إِنَّكَ لَمْ تُصَلِّ عَلَى سَبْعِكَ. فَقَالَ: " أَوَلَسْنَا قَدْ صَلَّيْنَا ؟ " ثُمَّ قَالَ: " تُجْزِئُ الصَّلَاةُ الْمَكْتُوبَةُ مِنْ رَكْعَتَيِ السَّبْعِ
Translation
✧ He performed tawaf with Ibn Umar before sunset. He said: 'We finished and the iqamah was called, so we prayed Maghrib. Then he stood and did not pray, and began another seven rounds. I said, 'You did not pray for your seven rounds.' He said, 'Did we not already pray?' Then he said, 'The obligatory prayer suffices for the two rak'ahs of the seven rounds.'
