عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي مَنْ أَثِقُ بِهِ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ قَالَ:
سَمِعْتُ لِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ، هِجِّيرًا حَوْلَ الْبَيْتِ يَقُولُ: ﴿رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ ﴾
Translation
✧ I heard ʿUmar b. al-Khaṭṭāb constantly reciting around the House: “Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.”
