قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ: وَسَمِعْتُ رَجُلًا يُحَدِّثُ هِشَامَ بْنَ حَسَّانَ، عَنْ عَمٍّ لَهُ، عَنْ أَبِي شُعْبَةَ الْبَكْرِيِّ قَالَ:
طُفْتُ مَعَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ فَسَمِعْتُهُ حِينَ حَاذَى الرُّكْنَ الْيَمَانِيَ قَالَ: " لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ، وَبِيَدِهِ الْخَيْرُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ، فَلَمَّا جَاءَ الْحَجَرَ " قَالَ: ﴿رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ ﴾فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ قُلْتُ: يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، سَمِعْتُكَ تَقُولُ كَذَا وَكَذَا قَالَ: " سَمِعْتَنِي ؟ " قُلْتُ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: " فَهُوَ ذَلِكَ أَثْنَيْتُ عَلَى رَبِّي، وَشَهِدْتُ شَهَادَةَ حَقٍّ، وَسَأَلْتُهُ مِنْ خَيْرِ الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ " فَدَعَا هِشَامٌ بِدَوَاةٍ فَكَتَبَهُ
Translation
✧ I circumambulated with Ibn ʿUmar, and I heard him when he came parallel to the Yemeni Corner say: “There is no god but God alone, with no partner. His is the dominion and His is the praise. In His hand is all good, and He has power over all things.” Then when he reached the Stone he said: “Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.” When he finished, I said: “O Abu ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, I heard you say such-and-such.” He said: “Did you hear me?” I said: “Yes.” He said: “That is it: I praised my Lord, bore witness with a true testimony, and asked Him for the good of this world and the Hereafter.” Then Hishām called for an inkpot and wrote it down.
