عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ شَيْخٍ، مِنْ أَهْلِ خُرَاسَانَ يُقَالُ لَهُ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ كَعْبٍ،
أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ عَنْ بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ فَيُخْبِرُ بِمَا فِيهِ مِنَ الْفَضْلِ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الشَّامِ: يَا أَبَا عَبَّاسٍ، إِنَّكَ تُكْثِرُ ذِكْرَ بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ، وَلَا تُكْثِرُ ذِكْرَ هَذَا الْبَيْتِ، فَقَالَ لَهُ كَعْبٌ: " وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ كَعْبٍ بِيَدِهِ، مَا خَلَقَ اللهُ عَلَى ظَهْرِ الْأَرْضِ بَيْتًا أَفْضَلَ مِنْ هَذَا الْبَيْتِ، إِنَّ لَهُ لِسَانًا وَشَفَتَيْنِ وَإِنَّهُمَا لَيَنْطِقَانِ، وَإِنَّ لَهُ لَقَلْبًا يَعْقِلُ بِهِ " فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ يُقَالُ لَهُ أَبُو حَفْصٍ: يَا أَبَا إِسْحَاقَ، لَا تَزَالُ تُحَدِّثُنَا تَابِلَةً، إِنَّ الْحِجَارَةَ تَتَكَلَّمُ ؟ فَقَالَ كَعْبٌ: " وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ، إِنَّ الْكَعْبَةَ اشْتَكَتْ إِلَى رَبِّهَا، فَقَالَتْ: يَا رَبِّ قَلَّ زُوَّارِي، وَقَلَّ عُوَّادِي، فَأَوْحَى اللهُ تَعَالَى إِلَيْهَا أَنِّي مُنَزِّلٌ عَلَيْكِ تَوْرَاةً حَدِيثَةً، وَعِبَادًا مُتَهَجِّدِينَ سُونَكِ حُدُودًا سُجُودًا يَحِنُّونَ إِلَيْكِ حَنِينَ الْحَمَامَةِ إِلَى بَيْضَتِهَا، وَيَدِفُّونَ إِلَيْكِ دُفُوفَ النُّسُورِ، مَنْ طَافَ بِكِ سَبْعًا كَانَ لَهُ عِدْلُ رَقَبَةٍ مُحَرَّرَةٍ، وَمَا مِنْ حَالِقٍ يَحْلِقُ عِنْدَ هَذَا الْبَيْتِ إِلَّا كَانَ لَهُ بِكُلِّ شَعَرَةٍ نُورًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ "
Translation
✧ He was asked about Jerusalem, and he reported its virtues. A man from the people of Syria said: O Abu Abbas, you mention Jerusalem often, but you do not mention this House often. Ka'b said to him: 'By the One in whose hand is the soul of Ka'b, Allah has not created on the face of the earth a house more virtuous than this House. It has a tongue and two lips, and they speak. It has a heart with which it understands.' A man called Abu Hafs said: O Abu Ishaq, you keep telling us extraordinary tales—do stones speak? Ka'b said: 'By the One in whose hand is my soul, the Ka'bah complained to its Lord and said: O Lord, my visitors have become few, and my pilgrims have become few. Allah, exalted is He, revealed to it: I shall send down upon you a new Torah and devoted servants who keep night vigil, bowing and prostrating, yearning for you as a dove yearns for its egg, and flocking to you like eagles. Whoever performs tawaf around you seven times will have the reward of freeing a slave. And no one shaves his head near this House except that for every hair he has a light on the Day of Resurrection.'
