✧ When one finds no water

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ حَازِمٍ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ رَاشِدٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أُنَيْسٍ قَالَ:
كَانَ بِرَجُلٍ جُدَرِيٌّ فَأَصَابَتْهُ جَنَابَةٌ فَأَمَرُوهُ، فَاغْتَسَلَ فَانْتَثَرَ لَحْمُهُ فَمَاتَ، فَذُكِرَ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ، فَقَالَ: قَتَلُوهُ قَتَلَهُمُ اللهُ، أَلَمْ يَكُنْ شِفَاءَ الْعِيِّ السُّؤَالُ ؟ لَوْ تَيَمَّمَ بِالصَّعِيدِ
Translation
✧ A man had smallpox and became junub. They ordered him, so he performed ghusl, and his flesh fell off and he died. That was mentioned to the Prophet ﷺ, and he said: They killed him, may God kill them. Is not the cure for ignorance to ask? If only he had performed tayammum with clean earth.
