✧ The Dabb Lizard

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ،
أُتِيَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بِلَحْمِ ضَبٍّ، فَقَالَ: لَمْ يَكُنْ أَبِي - أَوْ آبَائِي - يَأْكُلُونَهُ، قَالَ خَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ: لَكِنَّ أَبِي قَدْ كَانَ يَأْكُلُهُ قَالَ: فَأَكَلَ مِنْهُ خَالِدٌ، وَالنَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِ
Translation
✧ Meat of a dabb lizard was brought to the Prophet ﷺ, and he said: "My father—or my forefathers—did not eat it." Khalid b. al-Walid said: "But my father used to eat it." He said: So Khalid ate from it while the Prophet ﷺ watched him.
