machine translationʿAbd al-Razzāq, from Ibn Jurayj, from ʿAṭāʾ, who said:
✧ To wipe over them three times is more preferable to me, just as a person wipes his foot, and do not wash them. I said: 'Should I dip my palm into the water and not shake it off until I wipe with what is on it as I wipe the head?' He said: 'Yes.' I said: 'What do you think if, after three wipes, I miss a part of the leather socks?' He said: 'That will not harm you.'
