قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ: وَسُئِلَ الثَّوْرِيُّ، وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ
عَنِ الْعَبْدِ يُصِيبُ الصَّيْدَ ؟ قَالَ: " يَصُومُ "، فَقِيلَ لَهُ: فَإِنْ أَعْطَاهُ مَوْلَاهُ مَا يَذْبَحُ ؟ قَالَ: " الصَّوْمُ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ " ثُمَّ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي لَيْثٌ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قَالَ: لَيْسَ عَلَى الْمَمْلُوكِ إِلَّا الصِّيَامُ
Translation
✧ About the slave who kills game? He said: "He fasts." It was said to him: What if his master gives him something to sacrifice? He said: "Fasting is more beloved to me." Then he said: Layth reported to me from Mujahid who said: The slave owes nothing but fasting.
