عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ:
قُلْتُ لِعَطَاءٍ: أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ كَانَ وَلَدُهُ مَرِيضًا أَوْ ذُو قَرَابَتِهِ ؟ قَالَ فَلَا يَعُودُهُ إِلَّا أَنْ يَقْطَعَ جِوَارَهُ، قُلْتُ: أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ جَاءَهُ الَّذِي اشْتَكَى مِنْ أَهْلِهِ، فَجَاءَهُ فِي مُجَاوَرِهِ أَيَسْأَلُهُ عَنْ شَكْوَاهُ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ ! وَمَا بَأْسُ ذَلِكَ ؟ قُلْتُ: أَفَيُرْسِلُ لَهُ رَسُولًا يَسْأَلُ عَنْهُ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ ! قُلْتُ: أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ كَانَ الَّذِي اشْتَكَى بِفُسْطَاطٍ بِأَعْلَى الْوَادِي أَيَعُودُ ؟ قَالَ: لَا
Translation
✧ I said to 'Ata': 'What do you think if his child is sick, or a close relative?' He said: 'He should not visit him unless he cuts off his seclusion.' I said: 'What do you think if the one who is ill from his family comes to him during his seclusion? Should he ask him about his complaint?' He said: 'Yes! And what is wrong with that?' I said: 'Should he send a messenger to ask about him?' He said: 'Yes!' I said: 'What do you think if the one who is ill is in a tent at the top of the valley? Should he visit him?' He said: 'No.'
